Improving Maryland’s Highways, Roads, and Bridges
- Invests $4.1 billion in Maryland’s federal-aid highway apportioned programs
- Invests $409 million for bridge replacement and repairs in Maryland over five years
- Maryland will be able to compete for the $12.5 billion Bridge Investment Program and the $16 billion of national funding dedicated for major projects designed to deliver economic benefits to communities
Improving Maryland’s Public Transportation System
- Invests $1.7 billion over five years under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to improve public transportation options across Maryland
Building out Maryland’s EV Charging System
- Invests $63 million over five years to support the expansion of an EV charging network in Maryland
- Maryland will have the opportunity to apply for the $2.5 billion in grant funding dedicated to EV charging in the Act
Expanding Internet Access for Marylanders
- Allocates $100 million to help provide Marylanders with broadband coverage across the state
- Provides access to the at least 148,000 Marylanders who currently lack internet
- 17% of people in Maryland will be eligible for the Act’s Affordability Connectivity Benefit, which helps low-income families afford internet access
Strengthening Maryland’s Infrastructure Against Climate Change and Cyber Attacks
- Invests $7.9 million over five years to protect against wildfires
- Invests $15.9 million to protect against cyberattacks
- Maryland will also be a state beneficiary of the Act’s historic $3.5 billion national investment in weatherization to reduce energy costs for families
Delivering Clean Drinking Water to Maryland
- Invests $844 million over five years to ensure the delivery of clean, safe drinking water to every Marylander
Improving Maryland’s Airports
- Invests $158 million for infrastructure development for Maryland’s airports over five years
