WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) issued the following statement in response to the overnight military actions launched against Venezuela by President Trump:

"Donald Trump's illegal invasion of the sovereign country of Venezuela without military provocation should anger every American and every member of Congress. Trump was elected to run the United States, not Venezuela," said Congressman Kweisi Mfume. "With everyday people struggling to find a way to pay for increasing healthcare costs, higher grocery bills and home heating bills, we don't need a gangster President who spends time invading another country but refuses to take care of American problems first."
