WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) announced $13,716,279 in Community Project Funding he secured for Maryland’s 7th Congressional District in the 2024 federal government spending bills.

“Community Project Funding provides Members of Congress, who know their Congressional Districts best, the ability to request, fight for, and secure funds for local organizations that perform critical work in our communities. After a careful and deliberate application process from a diversified pool of applicants, the organizations below will receive these direct federal investments so that they can continue their work on behalf of all who call Baltimore home.

“This fiscal year’s government funding process was unprecedented, as Congress – on multiple occasions – narrowly avoided a catastrophic federal government shutdown. House Democrats remained committed to putting People Over Politics throughout negotiations and firmly rejected extreme Republican cuts and policies. We worked under the spirit of honest bipartisanship to unite both sides of the aisle and craft legislation that invests in America’s future and delivers for the American people,” said Congressman Kweisi Mfume.

Congressman Mfume championed funding for all 15 projects he submitted this year and worked with Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen to bolster the support for these same legislative initiatives in the United States Senate.
