November 5, 2021

WASHINGTON – Congressman Kweisi Mfume, (MD-07) issued the following statement on the passage of the "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act" tonight.

"Tonight, I joined my colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This transformative legislation will modernize America's infrastructure, expand broadband access, create jobs for Marylanders, accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles to address the climate crisis, support manufacturing jobs, and bolster transportation safety programs. With the passage of this measure, we are making the largest federal investment in public transit and clean energy transmission in American history,"said Congressman Kweisi Mfume.

"I voted in favor of this critical piece of legislation because of the benefits it will bring to Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County, including making funds available to address the ‘highway to nowhere' and expanding opportunities for minority-owned businesses. I am proud to send the bill to President Biden's desk for his signature."
