FY26 Appropriations Requests

Thank you for your interest in the Office of Congressman Kweisi Mfume’s (“the Office”) Appropriations Process. The Office is now accepting program, language, and Community Project Funding requests for the FY26 Appropriations Process. Please be advised that the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations (“Committee”) has not issued guidance or set deadlines for the FY26 Appropriations Process. Consequently, the information below is subject to change slightly for FY26. Once the Committee majority issues final guidance and sets firm deadlines, you will be notified via email by the Office and will be able to make updates to your submission if any are needed. The Office has done all it can to advocate for Maryland’s 7th Congressional District in this process. Please be prepared for a quick turnaround once those details are released to member offices as there is often only short notice provided. You may contact Austen Edelenbos and Eric Bryant at MD07CommunityProject@mail.house.gov(link sends email) for questions related to Community Project Funding. For questions related to Program and Language Requests, you may contact Faith Morgan and Samuel Mollin at MD07ProgramLanguage@mail.house.gov(link sends email)

Program – a request for general support or funding adjustments to a federal program.

Language – a request to add language or a report request to the appropriations bill. Language requests generally do not include dollar amounts and are often restrictive. Report language typically encourages a department or agency to take action.

Community Project Funding (CPF) – FY25 guidance allowed members to submit CPFs, which would direct funds to a specific state or local government or eligible non-profit entity sponsoring a project that best serves Maryland’s 7th Congressional District. Requests that address the most significant needs of the 7th Congressional District of Maryland are more likely to be advanced to the Committee. Because of these parameters and the high volume of requests received, our Office is not able to accommodate every request. We ask for patience as we work through logistics with community leaders and the Committee on this process.
