Congressman Kweisi Mfume has nominated students from Maryland's 7th Congressional District for acceptance to the United States Service Academies' Class of 2025.
"There is no higher honor or duty than serving our country and fellow citizens. I am proud to continue this tradition of nominating talented young men and women from the 7th District to join one of our nation's prestigious Military Service Academies," Congressman Kweisi Mfume said. "This year's applicants were truly exceptional, and I'm confident they will represent us well."
Congressman Mfume has the honor of nominating up to ten qualified young people from the 7th Congressional District for attendance at four of the Military Service Academies: the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. A nomination does not guarantee admission to a service academy, but it is required to be considered. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination for appointment.
The nominees (listed below) will be submitted to the respective Service Academy admissions office within the coming days. The admissions offices will notify applicants of their approval or denial by April 15th. Students accepted into an Academy will have until May 1st to accept the appointment.
