Maryland Congressional Delegation Announces More Than $140,000 to Protect Maryland's Shorelines and Invest in Green Infrastructure

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Steny H. Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, Kweisi Mfume, Andy Harris, Anthony G. Brown, Jamie Raskin, and David Trone (all Md.) today announced $142,758 in federal funding for the Maryland Department of the Environment to protect wetlands and shorelines along the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, and Kweisi Mfume (all D-Md.) today announced $9.4 million in federal funding for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to upgrade railway infrastructure in Martin's Yard and Baltimore Penn Station.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen led members of the Maryland delegation, including Senator Ben Cardin and Congressmen Steny H. Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, Kweisi Mfume, Anthony Brown, Jamie Raskin, and David Trone (all D-Md.) in expressing their serious concerns to Governor Hogan on the Purple Line Project, as construction delays and legal disputes continue to cause significant disruptions to Maryland businesses and communities.

Today, Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) released a report marking his first 150+ days in office. The report highlights progress in both Washington, DC and in Maryland on issues ranging from racial justice and environmental justice, to health care and constituent services.

WASHINGTON - Representatives Jesús "Chuy" García (Il-04), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), and Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) joined by 36 Members of Congress introduced the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Safe Schools Act to provide $17 billion to school districts to pay for PPE, cleaning supplies, technical training, and additional staff support needed to keep students, educators, and communities safe.
