WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin and Congressmen Steny H. Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John P. Sarbanes, Andy Harris, M.D., Kweisi Mfume, Anthony G. Brown, Jamie B. Raskin and David Trone (all Md.) announced that Maryland received an award of $17,133,477 in state and national AmeriCorps funding. The award comes from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency responsible for AmeriCorps, and will place more than 1,200 AmeriCorps volunteers into 10 organizations across Maryland.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Dutch Ruppersberger, John P. Sarbanes, and Kweisi Mfume (all D-Md.) today announced $500,000 for Morgan State University's work to preserve its University Memorial Chapel Window through the National Parks Service (NPS) Historic Preservation Fund (HPF). Nationwide, NPS will allocate $7.7 million in competitive grants to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for the preservation of historic structures.
